How to Use Our ChatCoach

Pick a topic in your life to focus on

The best way to approach a ChatCoach session is usually to focus on one or two issues or growth areas during each session for which you can co-create and commit to some small actionable steps toward a more positive, flourishing life.

Log into the ChatCoach

Click on any of the links on this page to reach our ChatCoach app. If you are not yet a WellBalance member, it will ask you to create your private account and log-in. This will also give you access to our free wellbeing assessment, your private member dashboard, and other member resources. If you are already a WellBalance member, you just need to be signed in. 

Start a Chat

To start a voice conversation, just click "Start a Call". To start a silent text-only chat, just send your first message via the text box. After reading and accepting our policies, you may be asked to enable temporary access to your microphone (even if only chatting by text) - this access will be automatically disabled after you close the chat. 

Ask Away!

Start wherever you are right now - a general feeling or something that's been on your mind, a simple question or a big life decision, Just start the conversation and direct it however is most helpful for you, just as you would with a trusted friend.

Your de-identified conversation data will be processed anonymously by WellBalance's servers hosted by Microsoft, OpenAI's ChatGPT and ElevenLabs, a text-to-voice-to-text application,

Unlike the "frontier" artificial intelligence models commonly used, our AI ChatCoach is designed and trained to act as a knowledgeable life or executive coach, with guard rails in place to prevent offering any mental health or medical advice (as well as any financial or legal advice).

Any evidence of severe or persistent emotional distress, or risk of self-harm or harm to others, will prompt the ChatCoach to gently direct the user to seek appropriate professional help.
